Media personalities game for charity auction
Ottawa's second Business Media Auction is a unique networking event for charity

Once again eight senior members of Ottawa's business media is gathering for a fun evening of fine dining and NHL hockey, with a little networking for charity thrown in to help local charities.   This second annual Business Media Auction enables the astute Media Relations Director to spend hours of quality time with the business media, developing good relations for the future.

Both big-tech and startups who value their access to the media will follow the lead of the bidders in last year's Business Media Auction by helping the charities favoured by the local and national media, joining them for hours of quality time in return.   One hundred percent of the winning bids go to the charities supported by the media personalities, thanks to the sponsors.

Thanks to the continuing support of Aramark Sports Entertainment, the top six winning bidders and the eight volunteering media personalities will enjoy a Prime Rib Buffet Dinner at the Corel Centre's Senate Club, wine included. Then the troupe will move to the Bell Canada box to watch the Ottawa Senators play the Carolina Hurricanes.

Although there is a limit of one winning bidder per company, the likely participation of public relations firms means that many firms may benefit from the friendships developed in this auction.

New to the auction this year is the 'Instant Win' where instead of possibly losing in last-minute bidding, one can place a $1000 bid and instantly win a seat (until the six seats are filled).   Previous auctions have shown that most of the bidding happens on the last day, and even in the final minutes.   It's a shame to lose such a rare networking opportunity at the last moment, so the Instant-Win bid rewards those who wish to help the charities in a significant way.   No credit card is required to bid.

The bidding closes at noon on Thursday December 5th, with the dinner and game starting at 5 pm on Saturday, December 7th.
